Hello folks. No mix ready at the moment, because ive been frantic getting together my submission to the ccmixter fort minor remix competition. For those who havent heard of them, fort minor is a hiphop spinoff of linkin park, and they have put one of their tracks 'remember the name' up for remixing on the ccmixter.org website. A sudden moment of late night foolishness saw the deletion of my initial offering, so ive had a madcap few days trying to recreate my remix. Overall, i would say that has led to improvement, but it could probably use a few more days honing. But that is the nature of my response to deadlines, i suspect. For those of you who want to know what its all about, you can check it out here

SOCAN would prefer us to play at least 35% canadian content. Im all for it, in theory, but when you mix as densely as this (with heavy overlap of tracks), it can be a tricky business filling up the gaps of a set without dilluting the cancon skeleton. All that seems to count is having a name in a column, no accounting for the time and context of the sample. I think ive done well enough with this set of sweet sweet canadian recordings… Here's a tasty morsel for you then…
